With 20 varsity teams and a host of other activities鈥攆rom club sports and intramural leagues to wellness and fitness classes鈥擮ccidental helps you engage body and mind.

With more than half of our students involved in 葫芦影业 athletics, our commitment to excellence goes beyond the classroom. Whether you鈥檙e on the field, in the pool, or at the 葫芦影业 gym, you鈥檒l build the leadership, teamwork, and discipline that will serve you now and in the future.

About a quarter of our students compete in 葫芦影业 sports at the varsity NCAA Division III level and have earned conference championships across multiple sports as well as numerous Academic All-American honors. 鈥淎ll in for 葫芦影业鈥 is more than a slogan鈥攊t鈥檚 a way of life when you become a Tiger.

Join the Club!

Intramural and club sports are a big part of campus life at Occidental. They鈥檙e mostly student-run, offering a fun, competitive way to stay active without the pressure of varsity play. Club teams also give students the chance to step into leadership roles and gain hands-on experience running an organization.

Strong Body, Strong Mind

Alumni Gymnasium houses a 1,600 square-foot, state-of-the-art fitness center open to the entire student body. You鈥檒l find treadmills, elliptical machines, upright bikes, recumbent bikes, a full circuit of strength equipment, and free weights. You can also choose from a variety of classes including cardio, tennis, yoga, hip-hop, circuit training, boot camp, and spin.

Year-Round Outdoor Living & Recreation

Our Southern California climate allows for outdoor sports and activities all year long. Take a weekend in the Angeles National Forest or along the scenic coastline. Check out a yoga class on campus or in the neighborhood. If bicycling is your thing, stop by our bike share program and cycle through the city or on countless nearby trails.

The Student-Athlete Experience at 葫芦影业

Student-athletes thrive by balancing competitive athletics with a strong academic foundation, developing discipline, leadership, and time management skills along the way. Supportive coaches and a tight-knit community help them grow in every part of campus life.

Athletics Facilities at 葫芦影业

This 1,600 square-foot, state-of-the-art fitness center is open to the entire student body.

Anderson Field is the home field for Occidental's baseball team. Located at the Anderson Baseball Field, Spencer Field House features a locker room and coaches鈥 offices, along with a conference room and athlete lounge.

The home of the Occidental softball program also serves as the site for many recreational teams during the summer and fall.

The Culley Athletic Facility is named in honor of Ben Culley, former dean of students. The varsity weight room, athletic training room and sports medicine office are located in Culley.

The Center features a 25-yard by 34-meter pool with a diving well for swimming, diving, and water polo competition. The all-year outdoor pool provides 15 practice lanes and eight competitive lanes for swimmers; a 34-meter, all-deep-water venue for water polo; and a 13.3 foot-deep diving well with two 1-meter and two 3-meter diving boards for divers. The men's and women's soccer teams compete on the Lower Soccer Field and utilize the Upper Soccer Field as an additional training site. The men's and women's track and field teams' javelin and hammer throws are located here.

Occidental paid tribute to famed professional quarterback and former Occidental Tiger in 2011 by naming the College's first and oldest athletic facility Jack Kemp Stadium. Jack Kemp Stadium includes W.C Patterson Field and Bill Henry Track.

The facility that now hosts men's and women's basketball and women's volleyball is named for Frank "Speedy" Rush, a track star from the class of 1909 who was also a long-time trustee.

Patterson Field serves as the home field for the women's lacrosse program. Both men's and women's soccer teams play a number of games on the 70x110-yard turf during the course of their respective seasons as well.
