The 2026 Opus Klassik winner and 2023 Grammy-nominated British vocal ensemble VOCES8 is the world鈥檚 top-streaming classical vocal group, and proud to inspire people through music and share the joy of singing. Touring globally, the group performs an extensive repertory both in its a cappella concerts and in collaborations with leading musicians, orchestras, conductors and soloists. Versatility and a celebration of diverse musical expression are central to the ensemble鈥檚 performance and education ethos which is shared both online and in person.
VOCES8 has performed at many notable venues from Wigmore Hall to Sydney Opera House. This season they perform over 130 concerts globally. Online the VOCES8 Digital Academy and the LIVE From London digital festival continue. They publish music and educational material with VOCES8 Publishing, E.C. Schirmer and Edition Peters, including The VOCES8 Method written by Paul Smith. Taylor Scott Davis is Composer-in-Residence with Jim Clements as Arranger-in-Residence. Their new album is 鈥淪hall We Gather鈥, a collaboration with Ringmasters, joining previous releases 鈥淭WENTY鈥, 鈥淣ightfall鈥, 鈥淎 Choral Christmas鈥, Christopher Tin鈥檚 鈥淭he Lost Birds鈥 (a Grammy-Award nominee), 鈥淗ome鈥 conducted by Eric Whitacre, featuring 鈥淭he Sacred Veil鈥 and 鈥淪even Psalms鈥 by Paul Simon.
The Hume Fellowship is shared with Theater and Music
It went active in the early 2000s and is named for the seeding benefactor, Bill Hume, who was a long-time employee of Occidental who oversaw the performing arts series that was in Thorne Hall from the time it first opened until the 1990s. (Bill left his estate to 葫芦影业, and it's the reason there is a Hume Fellowship.) . The requirement of the Hume is that the artist(s) work with students in some capacity, in addition to giving a concert. While, in Music, this has typically taken the form of a master class, it could also be visiting a class or the like. The concert is a marquee event, taking place in Thorne Hall.

From Bird Road, turn left onto Gilman Road. Parking is located next to the theater in the first lot off of Bird Road by Booth Hall on the right. There is also a parking garage off Gilman Road. Accessible parking available on Bird Road or Thorne Road behind the theater.
