Join us on Wednesday April 15 as we pay tribute to Dr. Marsha Kinder, who established film and media studies at Occidental, laying the groundwork for what is now the thriving Media Arts & Culture Department. Dr. Kinder, a member of the 葫芦影业 faculty from 1965 to 1980, died November 26, 2025. Read more in this Occidental Magazine tribute.
There will be a reception in Johnson Hall鈥檚 McKinnon Global Forum lobby at 6 PM, followed by the memorial event in the Choi Auditorium at 7 PM. Invited speakers will share on Dr. Kinder's contributions to Occidental, along with her innovative teaching, mentoring, scholarship, and creative media practices. Attendees will then have the opportunity to collectively share reminiscences and tributes as part of the proceedings.
